Today is the last day talking about sightseeing. That's a promise. Do you like Paris so far? We still have some things to talk about but you've already seen a lot.
Our last day with planned sightseeing was Versailles and Albert Kahn.
Arriving at Versailles with those clouds was a bit disappointing (it got really cold when it rained there and we can all agree that sightseeing in the rain is no fun), but less then half an hour later the sun came out and we had yet another gorgeous day.
See? We saw the entrance to the Château, and surrounded it on foot going to Le Domaine de Marie-Antoinette. It´s a park open to visitation, and there were quite a few locals jogging there. The city of Versailles is breathtaking.
Marie-Antoinette. Makes me wonder what all the fuss was about... Anyway, we went through the Trianons and gardens. It wasn't as wonderful as Chantilly, but it was quite beautiful. Take a look...
It´s massive...
This garden had the most amazing smell... it was a huge (seriously) carpet of these 3 flowers mixed together. Gorgeous and what a wonderful smell!
After Versailles we took a bus to Albert-Kahn Musée et jardin, it´s a garden museum tucked away almost outside Paris.
(in the rose garden)
This Albert was really fond of gardens and there are 11 different gardens to walk through.
(apple trees in the rose garden)
We particularly liked the apple trees that were made to grow like this... look how pretty!
(the last of the mini roses in the rose garden)
There are lots of picture perfect spots, it´s as quiet as can be and was really empty.
(modern japanese garden)
We had a great time there. The 11 gardens are completely different from one another and are all extremely detailed and well kept.
(in the forest)
Our last day was spent tasting new and favorite foods, and walking around the gorgeous touristy part of Paris. We went back to Jardin du Luxembourg...sat on the chairs that had been 100% occupied on the weekend,
and relaxed while snacking - there really are so many good munchies in Paris.
The phone was kinda locked to his hand the entire trip... we used it a lot to check which trains we should take.
Click. Run. Laugh.
Last stop... Champs Élysées for pizza and haagen-dazs. Plus a little shopping.
